SUMMARY:In this article, we present the conceptual foundation and selected studio works of two iterations of our trans-disciplinary university course program that integrates biomimetic computing and architectural design for graduate students in Architecture. In particular, we first present the motivation behind and the implementation details of a basic framework for self-organizing multi-agent computer simulations. Second, we highlight its conceptual presentation to the students as well as its appropriation by the students through examples of the students’ programmatic and material implementations in architectural design projects.
