- WWW browser. To be compatible with as many browsers as possible we
are using conservative HTML on these pages and are avoiding particular
browser specific extensions. The suggested browser is Mozilla
or Netscape Navigator 7.
- Adobe Acrobat Viewer or (exceptionally):
- Gzip decompression package, if they select
to download compressed version of the paper. See below.
- Post Script viewer if they select to download
PostScript print version and they do not have a Post script printer
or would like to read the journal on-line. See below.
2. Tools for authors:
- Word processing package etc. We suggest one that can write Rich text
or MS Word format (commercial).
- (opt) Printer driver to make .PS files. Commercial; part of Windows,
Macintosh and most UNIX systems)
- (opt) Gzip compression package to compress files
before transmission.
- Uuencoder or
- E-mail program that allows sending large binary files.
- E-mailer that allows receiving large binary files or Uudecoder
.
- Adobe Acrobat Viewer or
- Gzip decompression program.
- Post Script viewer if they do not have a
Post script printer or would like to read the journal on-screen.
To set up a paper we use:
- Rtf ToHtml converter.
- Wmf ToBmp converter.
- Display package to convert Bmp to Gif.
- Itconfier (that's out own filter to hypertexify itcon formatted files)
- Gzip compression package.
